What is an Exit Permit Only (EPO) ?
An EPO (Exit Permit Only) is a written permit that must be obtained by foreign nationals to leave the territory of the Republic of Indonesia legally. The EPO process serves as a sign that a foreigner’s residence permit in Indonesia has ended. Therefore, when a foreign national holding a KITAS (Temporary Stay Permit) intends to end their stay in Indonesia or apply for a new residence permit, they must first process the EPO at the Immigration Office in their place of residence. This EPO process should be completed before their residence permit expires.
When should you apply for an EPO ?
There are several situations where you must apply for an EPO :
1. If you plan to leave the territory of Indonesia;
2. If you decide to change jobs;
3. If you want to change the type of residence permit you hold (for example: from a work KITAS to a spousal KITAS, etc.).
How to Obtain an EPO
Here are the steps to obtain an EPO :
* Prepare your KITAS and supporting documents for our review and verification;
* We will submit your passport, supporting documents, and KITAS to the Immigration Office to process the EPO application;
*Once you receive the EPO, you have a maximum of 3 days to leave Indonesia.

What is an ERP (Exit Re-Entry Permit) ?
An ERP (Exit Re-Entry Permit) is an immigration document issued to KITAS holders who have left the territory of Indonesia or returned to their home country. The ERP is processed by the foreigner’s sponsor or guarantor at the local Immigration Office. It is important to do this while the KITAS is still valid because if the KITAS expires without reporting to immigration while you are outside Indonesia, you will be recorded as overstay (OS). If you plan to return to Indonesia for the same or different reasons, you will need to use a new visa or residence permit.
When should you apply for an ERP ?
There are several situations where you must apply for an ERP (Exit Re-Entry Permit) :
1. If you have already left the territory of Indonesia or returned to your home country;
2. If you decide to change jobs but have returned to your home country;
3. If you want to change the type of residence permit you hold (for example: from a work KITAS to a spousal KITAS, etc.).
How to Obtain an ERP
Here are the steps to obtain an ERP :
* Prepare your KITAS and supporting documents for our review and verification;
* We will submit the supporting documents and KITAS to the Immigration Office to process the ERP application;
* The Immigration Office will issue an ERP stating that the applicant has left Indonesia, and the KITAS is automatically closed.
